The system
Three stages. Each one has to earn the next.
A stage does not begin until the one before it is demonstrably sound. This is the whole discipline: most instrumentation fails not because the model is weak but because it was pointed at a substrate nobody had reconciled.

Ingest
Ground truth, not sampling
We take the whole record — transactional, operational, and public-signal — and reconcile it into one queryable substrate. No extrapolation from a convenience sample.
Reconciliation happens before analysis, not during it. Every record carries its origin, its ingest timestamp, and the transform chain that produced its current shape.
Where two systems disagree about the same fact, the disagreement is preserved and surfaced rather than silently resolved in favour of whichever source was read last.
Gate conditions
- Every row traceable to an originating system
- Conflicts surfaced, never auto-resolved
- Coverage measured against the full period, not a sample window
A scatter of records from separate systems, each with its own idea of where a fact belongs, collapsing onto a single queryable lattice. The left extreme is the same data before any reconciliation; the right is after.
Model
Baselines before verdicts
Nothing is scored until there is a stable baseline to score against. A number without a baseline is a guess wearing a decimal point.
The baseline is drawn from the operator's own history, not from an industry benchmark. Borrowed baselines import someone else's conditions as if they were yours.
A model that cannot state its own uncertainty does not ship. Where the interval is too wide to act on, the system says so instead of rounding it away.
Gate conditions
- Baseline derived from the operator's own record
- Confidence interval attached to every scored output
- Model refuses to score below a minimum evidence threshold
An observed field resolving onto the smooth baseline it is measured against. Points that stay bright are the deviations — the part that is evidence of something rather than noise.
Surface
One decision per surface
Each view answers exactly one question and states its confidence. If we cannot show the derivation, we do not show the number.
A surface that answers three questions answers none of them well. Each one is scoped to a single decision someone is accountable for making.
Every figure is one interaction away from the rows that produced it. Provenance is a feature of the interface, not an appendix in documentation.
Gate conditions
- One question per surface, stated in the header
- Every figure expandable to its source rows
- Blank state shown when evidence is insufficient
A terrain of competing candidate actions flattening until a single actionable peak remains. The left extreme shows everything the system could raise; the right shows the one thing it will.

If you already have the data, we can show you what it says.
We take on a small number of operators at a time. Engagements start with a read-only audit of what your existing systems already know.
